When flushing may be requested
Municipal maintenance, construction cleanup and CCTV preparation are common reasons for flushing. Accumulated sediment, gravel or other material may need vacuum removal rather than simply moving it downstream.
When targeted jetting may help
Jetting can assist with some deposits and obstructions, but pipe material, structural condition, access points and the type of blockage affect whether it is appropriate. A condition assessment may be necessary before applying high-pressure cleaning to a vulnerable line.
What a quotation should describe
Specify pipe material, diameter, estimated length, access locations, known restrictions, whether a CCTV inspection is required, containment and disposal requirements, and whether traffic management is included. On-site conditions can change the scope.
Combining flushing and CCTV
For inspections where deposits obscure visibility, cleaning first can improve the usefulness of the camera survey. The project specification or site representative should determine if cleaning and repeat CCTV passes are required.
